Welcome to the Wimmera PCP supported calendar for

National Reconciliation Week 2021

Look out for the poster available in the Weekly Advertiser issued today, Wednesday 26 May 2021.

This week is celebrated each year and it's an important time for non-Indigenous people to celebrate the significant contributions Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People's have made to our society today. Many people aren't aware of the rich tapestry of black history we have in the Wimmera and Wimmera PCP and its staff encourage you to continually learn and support the philosophy of truth telling. We encourage all past participants of cultural training to engage in the activities and opportunities available to you this week and show your support as 'cultural champions' we know you want to be.

NATIONAL SORRY DAY

Please also remember today is National Sorry Day which acknowledges and raises awareness of the history and continued effect of the forced removal of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from their families.

You can purchase a Sorry Flower to mark the day from the Kimberley Stolen Generation Aboriginal Corporation
